Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 July 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of VetHound (https://vethound.co.uk) and related services. By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
VetHound is operated by Triple Dimension Ltd (company number 12586636), whose registered office is at Unit 4b, The Skills Centre, Limberline Spur, Hilsea, Portsmouth, England, PO3 5LF. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of VetHound.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
1. What VetHound provides
VetHound is an information and comparison service for UK pet owners. We publish veterinary practice listings, fees where available, ownership information, Google ratings, and editorial pet advice articles.
VetHound does not:
- provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care;
- act as a veterinary practice or employ veterinarians;
- guarantee that any practice will accept you as a client or charge a particular fee;
- arrange appointments or process payments for veterinary services.
Pet advice articles are for general information only. Always seek advice from a qualified vet for your animal's health. In an emergency, contact a vet immediately.
2. Price and listing information
2.1 Guidance only
Prices shown on VetHound are for guidance only. They are not offers, quotes, or contracts. Final fees depend on your pet, the treatment required, clinical findings, out-of-hours surcharges, dispensing, and other factors only the practice can confirm.
Some treatments (for example dog neutering) vary significantly by weight. Where we show a “from” price, it is the lowest published fee we hold for that treatment at that practice — not a guarantee of what you will pay.
2.2 Sources and accuracy
We compile listing information from sources such as:
- fees published on practice websites or price lists;
- information submitted by practices through our claim and dashboard tools;
- public business data (for example Google Places for ratings, hours, and contact details).
Information may be incomplete, out of date, or contain errors despite our efforts. Always confirm prices and services directly with the practice before booking or relying on a fee.
2.3 No recommendation
Displaying a practice, sorting by price, or showing an average rating does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement. Cheaper fees do not necessarily mean lower quality of clinical care, and higher fees do not necessarily mean better care. You are responsible for choosing a practice that meets your and your pet's needs.
2.4 Corrections
If you believe a listing is wrong, see our price corrections & appeals process or email partners@vethound.co.uk. We aim to correct verified errors promptly but do not guarantee immediate updates.
3. Practice accounts, claims, and published fees
3.1 Claiming and managing listings
If you claim or manage a practice listing, you represent that you are authorised to act on behalf of that practice. You agree to:
- provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge;
- keep published fees and contact details reasonably up to date;
- use only one account per practice unless we agree otherwise;
- not impersonate another person or practice;
- comply with applicable law and professional standards, including advertising and transparency obligations that apply to your practice.
We may approve, reject, suspend, or remove claimed access at our discretion — for example if a claim cannot be verified or if information is misleading or abusive.
3.2 Accurate and fair pricing
VetHound is an independent comparison service. Pet owners rely on the fees we publish to plan and compare care. If you submit or edit prices through your dashboard, you must publish honest, accurate, and current routine fees — not figures designed to mislead, attract clicks, or gain an unfair advantage in search or sort results.
In particular, you must not:
- list fees that are artificially low, promotional loss-leaders, or unrepresentative of what a typical client would pay for the treatment shown;
- publish “from” prices that omit material conditions (for example weight bands, species limits, or consultation prerequisites) when those conditions apply to most clients;
- list prices for treatments or packages your practice does not routinely offer to the public;
- undercut published fees on VetHound below those shown on your own website or price list without a genuine update across channels;
- manipulate listings in any other way intended to game rankings, filters, or comparison features.
Fees you publish should align with fees you would reasonably stand behind if a pet owner contacted your practice the same day. Where a treatment genuinely varies (for example by weight or complexity), show a fair “from” price or the appropriate band — do not cherry-pick an exceptional minimum.
We may check submitted fees against your practice website, published price lists, and other sources. Practices do not pay to rank higher on VetHound; misleading pricing undermines the service for owners and other practices.
3.3 Reports, enforcement, and reverting to our data
Pet owners, other practices, and members of the public may report suspected inaccuracies through our price corrections & appeals process or by contacting partners@vethound.co.uk.
If we receive credible reports of false or misleading pricing, or identify a pattern of concern, we may investigate. Depending on what we find, we may (without limiting other rights):
- ask you to correct or substantiate the fees shown;
- temporarily hide or amend specific prices while we review;
- revoke dashboard access and restore fees from our own research (for example your website, publicly available price lists, or prior verified records);
- suspend or remove your practice listing from VetHound;
- reject or cancel a pending or approved claim;
- retain records of the issue for dispute resolution, audit, and legal purposes.
Repeated or serious breaches — including deliberate price manipulation — may result in permanent removal from the site and, where appropriate, referral to regulators or other authorities. We are not obliged to give prior notice before taking protective action where we reasonably believe misleading information is harming pet owners or the integrity of the directory.
If you disagree with a decision, contact us at partners@vethound.co.uk. We will consider reasonable evidence (for example a current published price list) but our decision on listing and account status is final, subject to applicable law.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the site in any unlawful way or breach applicable regulations;
- scrape, crawl, or harvest data at scale without our written permission (automated access that burdens our infrastructure is prohibited, except for search engines following our robots.txt rules);
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers, or data;
- introduce malware or interfere with the site's operation;
- use the site to harass practices, post defamatory content, or misrepresent affiliations;
- copy or republish substantial parts of our database for commercial redistribution.
5. Intellectual property
VetHound's branding, website design, editorial articles, and original compilation of listing data are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use.
Practice names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Google review content is subject to Google's terms. RCVS accreditation is indicated only where we have verified status — RCVS does not endorse VetHound.
6. Third-party content and links
The site may include links to third-party websites and display third-party aggregate ratings (for example Google star ratings and review counts). We do not reproduce full review text on VetHound. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or policies. Your use of external sites is at your own risk.
7. Availability
We aim to keep VetHound available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or withdraw features for maintenance, legal, or business reasons.
8. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under English law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Subject to the above, VetHound is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- reliance on prices, ratings, opening hours, or other listing information;
- acts or omissions of any veterinary practice;
- clinical outcomes, treatment decisions, or veterinary advice;
- loss of profits, business, data, or indirect or consequential loss;
- events outside our reasonable control.
If you are a practice user, you are responsible for the information you publish through your dashboard and for ensuring it complies with your professional and advertising obligations.
9. Indemnity
If you breach these Terms or misuse the site, you agree to indemnify us against reasonable claims, losses, and costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach or misuse, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or breach.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the site.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also have rights under local law.
